I have often danced to the tune of zero music
My hips swaying fast to the rhythm of my pulsating heart
I have dined with no palates or foods
Empty white plates reflecting hunger stains
In those dark powerless nights
I have cried to pain yet unborn
Fear building up for reasons unexplained
Eyes twitching back & forth to the crawl of strange superstitions
I have danced to the tune of zero music
Many a nights in the chaos of my world
Life playing tricks with my mental health
An ode to silence!! I’d like to this hear zero music some day,

“I have cried for pains yet unborn…
Fear building up for reasons unexplained”
Very often in life, we are bothered about things that may never occur.
Very lovely poem as always.
You are gifted with words!
You hit the nail on the head, we are often bothered about things that may never occur…
You are ever so gracious, thanks so much
Very beautiful poem
Thank you so much
This is quite melancholy… but I like that you danced even to the tune of zero music. That speaks hope.
Thanks always Alarna
Very beautiful written…
Thanks always my friend
I danced to the tune of heavy pulsating music, loud to my ears only.
Beautifully menlancholic
Another harsh reality that you have creatively expressed from the well of your words.
Thanks so much for reading
Beautiful, sad, brilliant.
Thanks sis
Zero music? Powerful! Intense! Recalls those moments when empty stomachs sing their own songs!
You got it right sir
I’ve danced to zero music. And life has played tricks on my mental health. Until the we lay to rest life will toy with us. Thought provoking write.
Thank you so much Ms. Kim
Boomie: this is a brilliant poem. I particularly like the second verse.
I don’t so much like the last line, just because “mental health” is a category from another kind of world. “with my (something) mind” would read better for me. Scared mind?
Thanks so much Simon. Really appreciate the feedback, will look into that line.
I might just steal the scared line…thanks Simon
