it sings of your bravery… it sings of your heart… it sings of your persistence… how you are the comeback kid… it sings of your peace… it sings of your dreams… it raises its notes to your hopes… echoing the chorus arise and try again…
good Monday greetings!!! here’s to a peaceful week starting from the inside out. . . . slide 1 is the original poem from years ago that made it into paper heart, my debut poetry collection now available for purchase wherever you buy books online (Amazon, Target etc) thought I’d plug that real quick😉 . . . as I was reading through it this morning… the poem came to me in another way… a very minor almost unnoticeable change…hence slide 2… . . . I wonder if this happens to other poets/writers out there? do you have final versions that have been published but years later they manifest in a different way and feel just as right? . . . which versions of these poems do you prefer? I like them both but believe I have a preference…slide 2… I see another change I could go for here ☺️
another poem from my debut poetry collection “paper heart” now available on all Amazon sites, Target.com, and most major online book retailers. please grab your copies today and when you do read kindly leave your honest reviews. they go a long way to help bring more buyers through the door. thank you ☺️
I am so excited to announce that @Ray_bloom @Sincerelybluejaypoetry @Breakingegg @wixluxure and myself are bringing a lovely event to you this summer!!!! “Come as you are” is is our family-friendly Zoom open mic happening on Saturday, June 26 from 7 – 9 EST / 4 – 6 PST! We’re featuring poets and musicians sharing their perspectives on life and the world to promote diversity through their arts.
We will be celebrating creatives from all walks of life — those whose hearts continually beat in words, those who whisper magic from golden tongues, those who do not necessarily label themselves “poets” or “musicians” but have something heartfelt to share.
We are coming together to support organizations which diversify the tech industry with the goal of facilitating equity and professional opportunities for those whose voices must be heard. The tech industry offers some of the highest salaries in the country and contributes to greater efficiency and continued discoveries in all sectors.
As such, diversifying the tech industry is crucial for shaping a society in which all people are valued. In line with this intention, we’re fundraising for the following organizations: @techinclusion (Change Catalyst) and @ajillafoundation (The Ajilla Foundation). www.changecatalyst.co and www.Ajillafoundation.org For more information on these groups you please check out the pages linked above.
We need all hands on deck for this great causes and event. Feel free to reach out to me in the comments for any questions or concerns pertaining to the event. Thank you ☺️
it is so easy to fall into the cracks of comparison… we can all be guilty of it… if care is not taken you become resentful of someone you do not know… . . . I find it is important to remember that everyone’s success comes with stories of pit stops we often do not get to see or hear about… rejections… hurts… lost years… uncertainties… misdirections… disappointments and so much more… . . . personally I am learning to offer myself grace and compassion for where I am while carefully looking ahead… . . . there are no promises of easy… but if we persist there are higher chances of success… And you own your definition of that.
