Many many thanks a million times over. Here’s wishing you and yours, a wonderful weekend. It is my prayer, and hope that this season will bring peace, love, and utmost joy to your hearts. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR ALWAYS BEING KIND AND SWEETLY GRACIOUS.

I am just going to guard all the Christmas decors and cards from that evil talking bird.

Parrot my foot…glad he is in the cage now. Trying to take over from me…dumb bird doesn’t understand this house is mine. Even the old woman plays by my rules…or else she gets scratched…she will never know it’s me either…she thinks it’s an allergic reaction…how can anyone be allergic to dry toast…it’s all she eats…Dr. Voodoos diet she calls it…

Oh here she comes…not the camera…be still……another picture…how many pictures? Ugh, I sure ended up with the wrong spinster…

“Twinkles say cheese…”

The picture I shared in the original blog post was from a Christmas where I was terribly ill…and I am the one with the big head and hair (not much has changed since)…I must say I was really ill in the picture and that’s why I didn’t smile…though my younger sister has always been the friendlier camera loving one in the family :).

Christmas Giveaway

Standard

I love Christmas…always have…always will. Christmas music is on repeat already in the house, and Lord willing tomorrow, the girls will start reading the 12 days of Christmas as is our tradition. The season brings out the best in many of us I believe…

Christmas from back in the day...My brothers will get me back wickedly for this picture...can you guess which of the girls is moi??? :)

Christmas from back in the day…My brothers will get me back wickedly for this picture…can you guess which of the girls is moi??? 🙂

I was reminiscing about my childhood Christmas memories yesterday, and boy did the Mr. and I laugh a lot…we had such fond beautiful memories from wearing new clothes to eating yummy rice, and all the plays and recitals I was a part of in nursery, and primary school…I sang the 5 gold rings part of the 12 days of Christmas…and in nursery school I think I was a pregnant Mary.

It’s taken a lot longer to get into the holiday mood this year because I have been in a melancholic state of mind…however I am getting myself out of it and what better way to do that than a Christmas giveaway…I think the only thing better than receiving a gift is giving one…however, there is a catch…I have to make you work for it just a little bit, nothing stressful really…more like fun.

First, you have to like my Facebook page…and follow me on twitter…fair enough right…and because I love the season so much…I want to share some of my favorite Christmas songs with you, and to make it fair…you share yours and tell me why you love them. Not bad, right?

Christmas songs are just divine and wonderful, my favorites are: “Merry Christmas” and “I want to feel Christmas like a child” both by Third Day (I am a huge Third Day fan)…I also love the classic version of “The Holly and the Ivy”…but my favorite has to be “Christmas Shoes” by Newsong…it reminds me so much of my mom, and our last Christmas together…that song gets me every time…

OK, now it’s your turn…what are your favorite Christmas songs and why? The giveaway ends on Saturday night at 10:00pm…winner announced on Sunday night…

Merry Christmas to you, and yours!!! May the joy of the season fill you hearts with peace and love, hope set for the New Year. Amen!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Standard

Happy thanksgiving!

After our morning prayers today, I asked the girls what they were thankful for…with confidence and much excitement, they both said “for being princesses.” Answered like typical pink loving little girls, don’t you think?. They asked if I was thankful for the same thing… I hugged them tight and answered yes…

I am also thankful for life, love, and laughter. I am thankful for faith, hope, family, friends, and fun.

And these days, I am most thankful for good food, and YOU! May you always find reasons to be thankful…today, tomorrow, and always.

Happy thanksgiving from my grateful heart to yours!

Love always

It’s that time of the week again. Friday fictioneers par Rochelle is on, and this week’s photo is courtesy of Sean Fallon. I must say that the prompt this week is a  tough one but between fiction and reality, I managed to pull something out.

This is a tough one I thought to myself looking at the picture…as if sensing my predicament, my almost 3 year old twin daughters’ walk up to me with 3 batteries in their tiny hands…”Mommy, look batteries” they both screamed…”can I keep battery for my birthday?” one of them joyfully asked. It’s been all about birthdays and Christmas lately.

“Sure why not” I responded taking the batteries from them…”I will just keep them in this empty animal crackers jar until then ok?”…”if you find anymore batteries remember to bring them to mommy…the more you find the more presents you can get.” I continued, smiling at them as I looked over at the picture on my laptop.

“Yay!” they both chorused… batteries for birthday presents… I laughed quietly as I walked away, knowing another story had just been born, many thanks to motherhood.
